Ghosts of Gone Birds

Some of the unluckiest of our feathered friends, driven to extinction centuries ago, are being brought to life again by artists such as Sir Peter Blake, Jamie Hewlett and Ralph Steadman for a London exhibition. Film-maker Ceri Levy has organised it in the hope of raising awareness of the plight of endangered birds. "Birds connect with us far more than we realise," he says . "People respond to them – everybody has a story about a bird."

Tenho que agradecer a maneira como Steve Jobs foi capaz de mudar a minha maneira de ver o mundo. Os produtos saídos da sua imaginação mostraram-nos que é possível conciliar trabalho, divertimento, produtividade, emoção, inventividade, tudo numa só máquina. Foi tornando cada novo cliente um fã capaz de defender a marca com unhas e dentes. Steve Jobs foi mais que um inventor ou mesmo um vendedor. Foi, isso sim, um grande evangelizador, capaz de tornar a sua marca uma religião.
Deu-nos também aquele que, para qualquer cinéfilo, é o seu maior legado, a Pixar. A cada nova ideia Steve Jobs reescrevia a história da humanidade.
No dia em que desapareceu um dos maiores visionários da nossa Era, apenas posso prestar a minha homenagem ao som de outro génio que viu o seu tempo chegar ao fim cedo demais.

A frase da Empire usada no veredicto ao filme incorpora tudo o que senti ao ver este maravilhoso filme de Duncan Jones:

- Ainda é possível fazer filmes como antigamente.

Realmente, Moon é uma lufada de ar fresco no panorama cinéfilo actual, fugindo dos remakes e cópias baratas de clássicos. Sam Rockwell é pura e simplesmente brilhante, fazendo a sua personagem crescer (em vários sentidos) ao longo da história dando-lhe uma carga emocional bastante forte. Este é segundo filme deste realizador que vejo (o primeiro foi Source Code), e posso dizer que está no bom caminho. Filho de peixe sabe nadar (o menino é filho de David Bowie).

A crise...para alguns!

A crise chegou...mas apenas para alguns. Depois de festivais de verão esgotados e Algarve sobrelotado, eis que no pináculo do verão este grande senhor da música vem a terras algarvias tocar os seus maiores exitos. Pena não ser para todos. O bilhete mais barato custa 295 euros, o mais caro 600 euros. E nada entre o meio. Este é o Allgarve!

Amy Winehouse 1983 - 2011

Ainda estou em choque...




A cantora britânica Amy Winehouse foi esta tarde encontrada morta no seu apartamento em Londres.

Segundo a estação de televisão britânica, os serviços médicos de Londres foram chamadas ao local já por volta das 16 horas.

As causas da morte da cantora, de 27 anos, ainda não são conhecidas.

Os representantes de Amy Winehouse tinham cancelado todos os concertos da sua digressão europeia, incluindo uma actuação no Festival Sudoeste em Agosto, alegando “problemas de saúde”.

Várias vezes, a cantora que em 2006 chegou aos tops internacionais com o premiado álbum “Back to Black” esteve internada em clínicas de reabilitação e desiludiu os fãs por causa de más prestações em palco devido a excesso de álcool e problemas associados a drogas.

O cancelamento da digressão foi decidido depois de um concerto, em Junho, em Belgrado, onde deixou cair várias vezes o microfone em palco e onde acabaria por desaparecer do palco, não se lembrando das letras das suas músicas.

A projecção que Amy Winehouse ganhou quando lançou o seu primeiro álbum, “Frank”, de 2003, e os elogios que recebeu da crítica – que a comparou às vozes de Sarah Vaughan ou Macy Gray – viria a revelar-se um círculo de decadência a partir de 2006.

Desde “Back to Black”, colaborou apenas com alguns artistas e o álbum que começou a ser produzido em 2008 não chegou sequer a ficar concluído.

A última vez que Amy Winehouse apareceu em público foi na quarta-feira, no Roundhouse, em Londres, onde apareceu em palco ao lado de Dionne Bromfield.
